Tuesday's .....In Other Words....faith

"Faith never knows where it is being led, but it loves and knows the One who is leading."
~ Oswald Chambers ~

Sitting and thinking about this quote.... I had a familiar image flirt across my mind.... and just had to share ..... Eric (that wonderful man God sent to my door nearly 11 years ago) is 6 foot 5 inches verses my 5 foot 3 inches..... big difference, right? Well, I don't think of it much any more.... he is tall, I am short... end of story as far as all that goes. However, when we are in a crowd I take hold of his hand so that he can lead me. He can see where we are going so much better than I could in that situation.... so I hold his hand and trust in him to lead the way. He can see the way so much better than I can and I know he loves me and will not lead me in the wrong direction. Just as I know Eric will get us to where we need to be ......I know that I can hold onto my Heavenly Father's hand and know that I can completely trust that He only leads me to where I need to go even if I do not know why I am going through a given situation I can take comfort in the knowledge that He sees the direction much better than I can ever imagine. His love for me gives me the comfort of knowing that I can completely depend on Him to lead me safely through any trials that may come ..... knowing that as long as I am holding onto His hand I will never stray. What unspeakable joy it is to know that I don't have to know the direction God is leading my life in .......for as long as I am holding His hand it is where He wants me to go.

1Pe 1:6-9 In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ, whom having not seen you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, receiving the end of your faith; the salvation of your souls.

Thanks for creating a mind picture ~ that is how my brain works.

Oh... and you are not short. You tower over me by 2 inches! :o) Perhaps that was why your word picture had such impact.

This is great - I really loved this quote. I have to tell myself that - He sees much better than I do :)

BTW, I can relate to the height difference - although my hubby and I aren't as apart as you, I am 5'4" and hubby is 6'8"

Great illustration of the quote!

And like another one of your commenters... you're NOT short. You're a good couple inches taller than ME and I refuse to be called short!!

What a great picture of faith . . . and how God tries to show it too as our husbands are the head of us and He is the head of the church. Thank you for sharing - lovely.

I love your analogy with your husband and you walking through the crowd. It truly illustrates this week's quote well.
Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts on this week's IOW quote.

Be blessed today and always.
