Friday's Fixin's....

Caramelized Onion and Gorgonzola Pizza

INGREDIENTS
½ stick of butter
2 large onions, I used a yellow , thinly sliced
2 teaspoons sugar
1 package refrigerated crescent rolls (when you roll it out its already in little triangle forms)
1 pkg (about 8 oz) of crumbled Gorgonzola cheese

Unroll the crescent rolls and bake for just a few minutes until the dough is about half done..while that is cooking, melt butter in a large skillet (I used a cast iron one) over medium heat. Saute onion slices in butter until the onions are soft and dark brown(20 minutes or so) ...then stir in sugar, and continue cooking for 1 or 2 more minutes (this smells so good !!!) Spread onions evenly over the dough, and top with crumbled Gorgonzola. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, or until done.

(This would make a great appetizer for a get - together.... just cut each "slice" of pizza in half.)

I tell you.... this is a great pizza for when you want something "different" .... my kids loved this!
