Remember ....... and never forget.

I remember where I was this day 7 years ago... do you? If you are like most of us you do....you remember watching or listening to the scene over and over again for hours and days.... I did it with tears unashamed, clutching my loved ones tight and praying for all those lost and those left behind to hurt.....

I also remember the crying out to God that happened so greatly in the aftermath of the destruction. How all of a sudden the churches in the area were filled with people and all the talk you heard was how this country needed to find its roots and to turn back to God. Yet, over time I saw the dwindling numbers in the pews, the talk turned to grumbling over a war and then about the gas prices.....

I hope to never forget what happened on 9/11 and I hope never to forget what the promises of God mean to us as a country, and to me as a blood bought child of God.

2Corinthians 7:9-10 (ESV) As it is, I rejoice, not because you were grieved, but because you were grieved into repenting. For you felt a godly grief, so that you suffered no loss through us. For godly grief produces a repentance that leads to salvation without regret, whereas worldly grief produces death.

I, too, remember what I was doing seven years ago, yesterday and I couldn't believe what I saw.

But yesterday, I watched a bit of TV where they replayed some of that same footage and it affected me the same way it did seven years ago and brought tears to my eyes.

Then, I listened to three children talk about their father who lost his life in the World Trade Center and how they wanted to honor their father. They mentioned doing good deeds and trying to do everything to their very best effort so as to bring honor to him, they mentioned that if anyone were looking to see their dad, all one had to do was look at them and they would see their dad. Lastly, the daughter said, "We miss you, Daddy and we love you"! At this, tears were streaming down my face. Tears come to my mind even now as I share this with you.

I pray that we all will never forget and will always remember what a great country we live in and that we honor the men and women in the service who make our country safe and who protect our freedom! May God Bless Them and keep them safe!
